PoliLingua has obtained the Cyber Essentials certification. What does it mean for you?

Basically, it means PoliLingua really cares about you and your documents and files and acts proactively, taking very serious measures against any - even the barest - possibility of a cyberattack.

The Internet is everywhere, in our PCs, telephones, vacuum cleaners, streetlights, etc. It would not be a stretch to say that the Internet makes our society work. Now businesses, for example, rely on this tool more than ever. Not only are they using it to work more efficiently but also to reach new markets.

With its ability to change the world, the Internet is a double-edged sword. It brings a lot of good and it also poses a significant threat to businesses that rely on it too much. Cyberattacks and data breaches are becoming more and more prevalent every day. According to a report by the Forbes Technology Council, every 40 seconds, a company falls victim to a cybersecurity attack.

Over the years, cybersecurity has become a synonym of a company’s integrity, showing the level of respect it pays to its clients, protecting them from the unwanted attention of hackers. Even if the quality of the product is as high as Mount Everest, no one would deal with a business that treats Internet security in a light-hearted way.

Companies must, therefore, take cybersecurity seriously and ensure that they have appropriate data security controls in place to prevent cyberattacks. Cybersecurity is of great importance, especially for companies that process sensitive data.

The world of cybersecurity is changing. Email and malware rates continue to rise and new threats are emerging. Meanwhile, the number of ransomware attacks has become so high that targeted attack groups are now using them as decoys to cover up more serious forms of attack. It’s a scary place, I’m telling you!

But not to worry, dear reader! We’ve taken adequate measures to protect you (and ourselves for that matter). That’s why PoliLingua has achieved Cyber Essentials accreditation.

What is Cyber Essentials?
Cyber Essentials is a UK government-backed project that will help protect businesses, whatever the size, dimension, and traffic, against an extensive list of the most common cyberthreats.

Cyber attacks cost businesses dozens of thousands of euros and can cause immense breakdowns or even a total arrest of performance. Companies can become cybercriminals’ targets if they take protection measures too lightly.

Cyber Essentials shows you how to prevent the most common attacks and protect your business.

Why is Cyber Essentials certification important?

  • It identifies the required controls believed to shield companies from up to 80% of the common threats from the Internet;
  • UK Government departments now require suppliers bidding for particular contracts to be Cyber Essentials certified;
  • Expected to be a major requirement to win business in many other sectors in the future;
  • Some Insurance companies now offer incentives for organizations that are Cyber Essentials certified;
  • Enables a company to demonstrate to their customers and stakeholders that their data is adequately protected and that they take cybersecurity seriously.

The success of a business depends on many factors. Here, in PoliLingua, we don’t take risks when it comes to our clients and data protection.
We work with Cyber Essentials, and we want you to know you are safe working with us.
