Translation of two Training Program courses

Samsung is a digital leader, a responsible global citizen, a multi-faceted family of companies, an ethical business. Samsung is all this and more. At Samsung people believe that living by strong values is the key to good business. That’s why these core values, along with a rigorous code of conduct, are at the heart of every decision they make. One of Samsung’s values is “People”. Quite simply, a company is its people. Samsung is dedicated to giving its employees a wealth of opportunities to reach their full potential.

Samsung chose PoliLingua to translate and to provide simultaneous interpreting for two of its most exciting training programs.
The Samsung Sales & Customer Service Excellence Training Program and the Samsung Sales Management Excellence Training Program are each a five-module, comprehensive training course in new standards of excellence for Samsung guest service and sales management. The first is for Samsung Brand Store Associates and the second for Samsung Brand Store Managers.
Polilingua carried out the necessary translation over the months of November, December and January, translating a total of over 85,000 words from English into Russian. The client had tight deadlines for each phase of the project.
Polilingua also organized all the human resources and equipment for interpretation during the courses, which took place December 8–10, 2014 in Moscow.

For the translation, Polilingua selected a group of experienced professional translators and proofreaders, all native-Russian-speaking experts in the field of marketing, who maintain high-level academic and business careers.
On account of the volume of the translation project, we split it into three parts. Consequently each source document and PowerPoint file was divided between four linguists, who worked on different segments of the translation simultaneously. All the text was proofread and edited by a senior Russian editor who ensured consistency of terms and the text’s fluency. We used Trados 2014 CAT tool to improve productivity and to create translation memory (TM) for future use.
The project also included light DTP work (desktop publishing) and image processing. The presentations were made in PowerPoint and images were processed in PhotoShop.
For the interpretation, Polilingua selected a team of two interpreters proficient in marketing terminology and organized all the equipment to ensure smooth running of the training sessions (e.g. headsets for all participants, wireless microphones for speakers and interpreters, flip charts, projectors and screens).

  • If you have ever been a Samsung Brand Store Associate or Samsung Brand Store Manager in Russia, you have definitely seen our work.
  • All our translators, interpreters and equipment technicians met their goals and deadlines throughout the course of the project.
  • We always met deadlines in good time, despite the size and extent of the project.
  • PoliLingua has an established history of providing the highest quality of translation and interpretation services to tight deadlines, which is why Samsung chose us for assistance with the linguistic support required to coordinate a successful training program.
  • Our success in this complex project came from our combined experience in translation and interpretation, comprehensive understanding of marketing terms and characteristics, a passion for details, a love of seeing an assignment through from start to finish and completing it to the highest standards.
