Malay Technical Translations
PoliLingua provides Malay technical translations to a broad range of clients, each with their unique requirements in terms of expertise, formats etc. Malay translations are required by a number of industries worldwide such as Aviation, Automotive production, Machinery, Patents, Telecommunications and many others.

Each of these field makes unique demands on technical English Malay translators: they have to use appropriate terminology, they must understand the basic concepts behind the procedures. Regardless of what our Malaysian translators are working on be it an operation manual, patent application, technical document, or anything else the translator must convey the exact meaning from the source language.

Most technical projects are large, and therefore contain many repetitive terms, identical phrases. In order to ensure consistent and accurate Malay technical translations the linguists should make use of CAT tools or translation memory (TM) tools such as Trados, MemoQ, Wordfast, DejaVu or any other software available on the market. PoliLingua is ready to work with your tools in case you already use one. In addition to the translation memories themselves, client-specific glossaries and terminology databases are key features which need to be leveraged when working on technical translation projects.

Malay Financial Translations
Accounting and financial standards vary from country to country, it is very important that your financial documentation is translated into Malay (or from Malay) appropriately for Malaysia. Typical Malay financial translations include: annual reports, financial statements, investment papers, audits, appraisals, contracts etc.

Malay Language Facts
Malay is the national language of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei, and it is one of four official languages of Singapore. It is spoken natively by 40 million people across the Malacca Strait, including the coasts of the Malay Peninsula of Malaysia and the eastern coast of Sumatra in Indonesia, and has been established as a native language of part of western coastal Sarawak and West Kalimantan in Borneo. The total number of speakers of the language is more than 215 million.

Malay is now written using the Latin script (Rumi), although an Arabic alphabet called Jawi also exists. Rumi is official in Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. Rumi and Jawi are co-official in Brunei and Malaysia. Efforts are currently being undertaken to preserve Jawi in rural areas of Malaysia, and students taking Malay language examinations in Malaysia have the option of answering questions using Jawi. The Latin script, however, is the most commonly used in Malaysia, both for official and informal purposes.
